From Woman Going Into Labor to Bald Bride, Fox Point Hair Designer Has Seen it All

Alan Turner has seen it all in his many years as a stylist at Valentine Salon.

Alan Turner has seen it all in his many years as a stylist at Valentine Salon. The Riverpoint Shopping Center hair designer said he once was busy styling a pregnant woman's hair, when she went into labor. Nevertheless, she wasn't leaving without getting her hair done.  “We did finish the hair, and she looked beautiful,” he said. The salon at 555 W. Brown Deer Rd. typically provides traditional trims and cuts, but Turner remembers once pruning a child a Mohawk. His clientele range from 5 years old to 85, Turner said. Another story Turner shared was when a bride-to-be came in and bluntly told him to “cut it all off.” “If he loves me, we’ll find out, if not, the hell with him,” he said, recapping the story.
