Young Artists Hone Their Craft at Workshop

Mentors, teachers and students come together for a day-long workshop for aspiring artists.

Nurturing a young artist is critical to their success as a creative force. Lessons learned from creating art, the discipline and cooperative experiences, can go well beyond the classroom. The Nicolet School District is keenly aware of this need for encouragement, and is doing something about it with the Young Artists'/Authors' Conference workshop. In its 21st year of operation, the workshop allows young writers and illustrators from the fifth through eighth grades to work together on a book. Students from Maple Dale Middle School, Bayside Middle School, Glen Hills Middle School and Nicolet High School were all in attendance this year.
