From humble beginnings, chain has gained a cachet for its overall quality and selection – yet sizing and fitting of its shoes remains a hallmark that has endeared it most of all.
When the developers of the coming Mayfair Collection in the Burleigh Triangle first hinted more than a year and a half ago that a Nordstrom Rack store would be a likely tenant, and more recently confirmed it, there was subdued excitement. "Nice to have the Nordstrom name here, finally," was the prevailing sentiment – "but wish it were a full-line Nordstrom store." A Fox Point woman thought she had sold her Jimmy Choo shoes to a reputable purchaser on eBay for $400, but when they were supposed to be returned, all she got back was an empty shoe box.
A 31-year-old Fox Point woman tried to sell some shoes on eBay. But when the buyer agreed to return them, she expected more than the empty shoe box. According to the report: The woman came into the Fox Point police station on Wednesday to report her missing Choos. She said she had purchased them for $750 for a wedding and only wore them once, so she tried to sell them on eBay. She was contacted by a "Ms. Lu" regarding the ad and after a string of e-mails, she accepted an offer for $400 for the shoes. Lu made the payment via PayPal and the shoes were shipped to a post office box address in California. A short time later, the Fox Point woman received an email from Lu saying the shoes had a scuff and she didn’t want them. The seller told Lu…
