Woman Steals Car, Crashes in Fox Point Driveway

An argument over rent causes the passenger of a vehicle to steal the vehicle and eventually crash into a Fox Point driveway.

An argument between two women led one of them to steal the other's vehicle, drive it north to Fox Point and crash it in a driveway on Bergen Drive. The confrontation started while they were driving on Capitol Drive the afternoon of March 11. After a heated argument about their friends and rent money, the driver of the vehicle, a Ford Taurus, demanded the passenger get out of her car at the Port Washington Road intersection. When the passenger refused to get out of the car, the driver took the other woman's wallet and approached a nearby Chevy Tahoe. The driver of the Tahoe agreed to let the woman use her cell phone to call the police. During this conversation, the passenger got into the driver's seat of the Taurus and drove away. The Tahoe…

Stolen Benz From Racine Turns Up in Fox Point

Fox Point police got quite the surprise when they ran plates on what looked like a Mercedes Benz, but learned they were registered to a Jaguar. The $25,800 Mercedes was stolen from an auto auction lot in 2011.

A stolen Mercedes Benz pulled over had plates for a Jaguar and citations stuffed in the glove box for someone other than the registered owner of either vehicle, or the driver.  Fox Point police were patrolling in the 7200 block of North Port Washington Road just before 3 a.m. on Wednesday when they queried a license plate of a car that looked like a blue Mercedes-Benz. A check of the plates showed them registered instead to a white Jaguar XJ6. Police pulled the car over and, according to the police report, the driver said the car belonged to his friend. He was aware that the registration plates didn’t match the vehicle.  Police checked the vehicle identification number and dispatch confirmed the car been reported stolen through the Racine …

Also in the reports: a car is stolen, a missing stroller is found, and fines are paid.

Bayside police received a call to the 400 block of West Brown Deer Road on Friday and found two vehicles near First Star Bank at 11:10 p.m. The first vehicle had two wheels on the sidewalk and two on the roadway. The driver, a 29-year-old woman from Pewaukee, was talking on a cell phone when officers arrived. The office asked her if everything was OK, she replied that she had just been in an accident, pointed to another vehicle parked about 60 feet ahead and said that the car “just hit me.” The driver was unharmed, but when she spoke, officers said her speech was slurred and her eyes were glassy and red. The officer walked over to the other vehicle and he could see that the passenger door and window was smashed. The passenger, a 29-year-…
