Three Bayside girls lit pages torn from books in the Little Free Library at Ellsworth Park Friday night, then ran away. Each nabbed a $681 fine.
Three Bayside girls each received a $681 fine after starting a fire at Ellsworth Park which they told police was because they started to “stay warm.” At 7:39 p.m. on Friday, Bayside Police and the North Shore Fire Department received a call for a fire at Ellsworth Park from someone who said they saw four girls who had lit a fire near the tennis courts and then ran away. Police searched the immediate area and found three girls running east along Fairy Chasm Road, directly north of the park. An officer stopped to talk with them and noticed they were all out of breath. Male driver says he never even saw the girl pull out onto the road.
Shortly after pumping gas into her car, a 16-year-old Bayside teen was hit by a mail truck. Around 1:30 p.m. Aug. 30, the Bayside teen was making a right turn out of the Citgo gas station at Regent Road and Brown Deer Road when a 53-year-old Greenfield man driving a U.S. Mail truck swiped her car. The man was making a left turn from the stop sign at Regent Road onto Brown Deer Road. He told police that he looked both ways before proceeding into the intersection. The report says he "never saw" the other vehicle before impact. The teen told officers she was already driving on Brown Deer Road before the impact occurred and believed she had the right of way. Fox Point teen cited for hit-and-run, will pay for mailbox repairs.
You can't back into a mailbox and drive away in Fox Point without repercussions. A 16-year-old Fox Point teen was issued a citation for hit-and-run after he misjudged the distance between his vehicle and a nearby mailbox and drove off. Around 8 p.m. May 20, Fox Point police arrived at West Bergen Drive and North Port Washington Road for property damage complaint. The owner of the mailbox was notified by a neighbor that his mailbox was struck by a silver vehicle that fled northbound on Foxcroft Lane. The owner immediately got in his car and quickly located the silver vehicle, convincing the driver to pull over.
