About 30 gas line meters, valued at $4,500, were stolen off an unattended flatbed trailer in Fox Point last week.
About 30 gas line meter sets and other assorted scrap metal was stolen off the back of a truck parked in the Fox Point Pool parking lot. The gas line meters, valued at $4,500, were stolen off an unattended flatbed trailer in the parking lot sometime between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. May 8. The meters belonged to KS Energy, who was contracted by We Energies to complete gas line work in the village. The employees left the area for several hours and returned to find the missing equipment, which they estimated would have taken 15 to 20 minutes to take. The manager of Best Buy caught a thief unwrapping a laptop computer in the bathroom, but the man turned over the computer and left the store before police could arrive.
Two laptops were stolen last week in Fox Point – one from Best Buy and one from the YMCA Dunwood Child Care Center. A man in his early 20s is suspected of stealing a laptop computer from Best Buy around 3:25 p.m. Jan. 11. Store managers noticed the man was acting suspicious, so they watched him on surveillance camera as he moved the laptop computer box to the car audio section, walked around the store for a while, then returned to the car audio section to hide the laptop box under his coat. The man then walked into the bathroom. A store manager walked into the bathroom and heard something being unraveled. The suspect made off with $203 in cash, credit cards and Boston Store gift cards. Security footage shows him using the gift cards at Mayfair and Southridge Malls.
A 26-year-old member of a cleaning crew is accused of stealing cash and credit cards out of a purse left at the iPic Theater at Bayshore Town Center. Glacier Dean Goudy, of West Allis, was charged in Milwaukee County Circuit Court Thursday with one count of theft. If convicted, he faces up to nine months in prison and $10,000 in fines. According to the criminal complaint: On Dec. 16, a woman went to iPic to see a movie and accidentally left her purse under her seat. A CVS clerk heard some strange "clanking" and went to investigate. After police caught the two thieves, they discovered this wasn't their first rodeo.
Two women were arrested for retail theft after they tried to sneak off with five, 1-liter bottles of liquor from CVS Pharmacy in Fox Point. When Fox Point police arrived on Dec. 18, the CVS Pharmacy manager said the woman in the security office with another police officer had concealed merchandise in her purse. But she told police she didn't take anything, it was the other person she was with, she was innocent. A woman tried to sneak a laptop out of Best Buy, police say, but her Rewards Zone card gave away her identity.
The hunt is on for Fox Point police as they investigate a theft at Best Buy and a big lead from a Rewards Zone card. When Fox Point police arrived on Dec. 19, a loss prevention employee told officers just minutes earlier a woman had concealed a laptop under her winter coat, but turned the computer over to a Best Buy employee when she was confronted in the store. Surveillance footage showed the woman purchase a printer at the registers in the computer department of the store. She picked up a laptop off the shelf and headed into an aisle in the movie section, putting the printer on the ground, the police report said. Police are looking for a 5-foot, 240-pound man who stole the used items from behind a Fox Point home.
Around 3:15 p.m. Nov. 27, a Fox Point homeowner called police asking them to investigate a theft. She said someone had stolen a toolbox, a used stove and a used kitchen sink from the back of her house. The toolbox had a drill bit set valued at $30, a set of Allen wrenches valued at $20, a wrench set valued at $50 and the toolbox itself was valued at $50 for a total loss of $150. Police spoke with a contractor who was working on the Fox Point home. He said a man, about five feet tall and 240 pounds, stopped at the home on two separate occasions, according to the report. A Nicolet High School senior attempted to steal a bottle of Fleischmann's vodka from CVS. Little did they know the VW Bug they rode off in would be easily spotted by Fox Point police.
A couple of teenagers tried to take make off with a $6.99 bottle of vodka from CVS but the getaway car was less than inconspicuous. Fox Point police were on their way to respond to a theft call at CVS Pharmacy around 2:18 p.m. Friday when dispatch gave a description of the two men involved - including that they'd just left in a black, VW Bug soubound on North Port Washington Road. Officers found them and pulled the car over in the 7500 block of North Port Washington Road. There were three men in the car and one of them admitted that he, and another, were inside CVS Pharmacy. A group of five targeted Sally Beauty Supply in Fox Point and stole $450 worth of hair extensions, false eye lashes and a hairbrush, police say.
Sally Beauty Supply was targeted for the second time in a month when a cross-dressing man and a pregnant 16-year-old, along with three others, stole $450 worth of beauty supplies on Nov. 7, according to a police report. Just before 6 p.m., a Sally Beauty Supply employee called Fox Point police to report five women and a man stealing from the store. She told police the group came into the store separately, appearing not to interact or know one another, and then the man distracted her by asking about hair dye while the others walked around the store carrying curling irons. The victim was only inside the bar for about an hour, but that was long enough for a thief to bust in his passenger side window and take off with a red backpack.
A Speak Easy Nightclub patron saw the tab for his evening out jump by $400 after a thief broke the man's truck window and made off with a backpack full of goodies. The 40-year-old Bayside man told Bayside police sometime between 6:15 and 7:39 p.m. Nov. 12, someone broke into the front passenger side window of his truck and stole a red backpack, according to the police report. Three women threatened a Sally Beauty Supply employee after they thought she was calling police. Fox Point police spoke to the employee around 5 p.m. Oct. 30 after the three women fled the store. She told officers they came in and started asking a lot of questions which made her suspicious because the same thing had happened before. She told officers while the women were still in the store she picked up the phone in the back room and put it to her ear as if she were calling somebody.
