Stormonth Kids Cast Their 'Sweet' Ballot Tuesday

Second-, third- and fourth-graders learned about the process of voting from registration to official voting booths, to their official "I Voted" sticker.

Casting a ballot wasn't just for adults on Tuesday.  Second-, third- and fourth-graders at Stormonth Elementary learned about the voting process Tuesday by voting for their favorite candy — Skittles, Reese's Peanut Butter Cups or a write-in candy. From official registration to getting that ballot, write-in candidates and the well-earned "I Voted" sticker, it was Election Central at Stormonth. "(Teachers have) been teaching (students) more about the process of voting," Principal Dan Westfahl said. "They got through the registration process, they go through the importance of showing fairness. You'll notice we have an equal number of Skittles posters as we do Peanut Butter Cup posters and it has been teaching them more about the process …
