JCC Unveils New Yoga Studio Sunday

The Jewish Community Center's new TEVA yoga studio will bring together pilates, yoga and wellness spa amenities.

The Jewish Community Center will open a new, full-service yoga studio Sunday in its location at 6255 N. Santa Monica Blvd. in Whitefish Bay. Mark Shapiro, the JCC's Executive Director, said the new TEVA yoga studio is an opportunity for the organization to expand its service to members, strengthen its impact in the wellness community, and introduce the JCC to a new audience of guests. “It is the ideal to build a new program that equally serves our mission, strategy for growth, and the needs of our community," Shapiro stated in a news release.  "I’m very proud that this JCC team has accomplished that ideal.”   TEVA - a translation of the Hebrew word “nature” - will encompass a number of specialized services at the JCC, including TEVA …

The American Dream Isn't Dead...But It's Changing

YogaOne Heads to Fox Point

After an exciting grand opening, the new YogaOne Studio in Fox Point has a promising future.

A place to center your mind, body and soul, the new YogaOne Studio had its grand opening this past weekend featuring free yoga classes.  And they boasted a pretty stellar turnout.  Simply by word of mouth, the grand opening easily had more than 100 participants on both Saturday and Sunday.  A few classes even reached upwards of 50 attendees each.  The event featured door prizes like free classes, one month unlimited yoga and yoga mats.  But the real prize was for YogaOne owner and instructor, Meg Galarza, who opened her first studio in Cedarburg.  Launching what some would call a “luxury service” in today’s economy can be risky.  However, she says some people who attended the grand opening were in class on Monday, only one day later. “Some…
