This family found their pumpkins smashed and a three-foot cement statue in an unlocked car that police later discovered belonged to a Fox Point family.
It was a not-so-happy Halloween for one Bayside family when they discovered vandalism and a strangely placed statue Nov. 1. A teenager in the 300 block of West Manor Circle told Bayside police someone smashed several pumpkins in the driveway and left a three-foot cement statue of a small boy with a bucket in the front passenger seat of his unlocked car, the police report said. He told police the statute didn’t belong to him and he had no idea where it came from. He said he called the only person he thought may have been involved, but that teen denied taking any part, the report said. Police noted that the boy he called was previously arrested for vandalism earlier in the year, including an incident the same residence. For more of our …

Fox Point police say the victim discovered two unauthorized gas purchases made with his credit card after his wallet was stolen from his unlocked car parked near Indian Creek Park.
A Bayside man told police he had tried to lock his car, but when the auto-lock malfunctioned he just figured his wallet would be safe anyway while he coached a soccer game nearby. The 34-year-old Bayside man came to the Fox Point Police Department around 8:15 p.m. on Oct. 1 to report his wallet was stolen. He said he was coaching soccer in the 200 block of West Dean Road between 5:15 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. the day before, when someone went into his unlocked car and stole his wallet from the center console, the report said. The wallet had $15 cash, a zoo pass, a driver's license, a Chase Bank Visa credit card and a U.S. Bank Visa debit card, he said to police. Thief took change, but left behind tools and a camera.
In the 8100 block of North Links Way, a man had between $50 and $100 in loose change stolen from a McDonald's cup he had kept in his unlocked car. Sometime between 9:30 a.m. Dec. 12 and 10:30 a.m. Dec. 13, a Fox Point man said someone went into his vehicle, which was parked in his driveway and unlocked, and rummaged through his glove compartment. The man told Fox Point police he went out to his car the morning of Dec. 13 to find the glove compartment open, papers pulled out and strewn about the car and items from above the visor also pulled down and sifted through. The man checked over the rest of the car to find that his tools in the back and camera in the center console were all accounted for. However, the large, plastic McDonald's cup …
