ReplyThanks; gardengirl, I was indeed sarcastic. And just to clarify my position in this. It’s up to Boy scouts of America to set their own rules and how to interpret these rules. But I hope that the govern body of the scouts realize, that disclosing kids who quietly struggles with this, is against all what the Scouts try to embody. And Scott I don’t mind people disagreeing with each other. Bringing good arguments are the basics of each discussion. But it is also healthy to be a critical thinker on own values and recognize that how narrow minded and uneducated the main stream public is.
Most adults in the gay community are good law abiding people who work hard for a living like anyone else. It’s time to recognize that the kids who deal with it have the same opportunity to enjoy the same rights and privileges as any other scout member. -

ReplyI prefer to see the future generation being taught by scout leaders who have excepted that a younger gay community exist out there.Rather then by leaders/parents who force their Authoritarian theory upon the scouts.

When the PD was informed about a man walking with a gun,it was not said to slow down for "he's only walking with a air soft weapon". -

ReplyI find all kind of excuses here as of why it should be ok to carry a weapon (on campus) just because the carrier might have concealed permits. And because nothing serious happened. There is a debate of rights. College and PD acted correctly in this case, resent history have shown that too many people with a gun on campus have not the right intentions.
Besides the conversation shows here that the pro-gun lobbyists here come up with all kind of excuses not to have their removed then sincerely considering a more morbid outcome. -
